Noah, a qualified and experienced teacher from Cameroon, creates a relaxed
atmosphere which motivates all children (irrespective of age and ability) to
enjoy learning. They develop understanding and skills by taking part in hands-on interactive
activities and processes.
All children have the opportunity to play
instruments, dance, sing, sometimes compose music and participate in role plays.
Question Time is always a dynamic and interesting feature of each session.
Workshops stimulate a wealth of cross-curricular follow-up activities:
Students not only enjoy learning about music, but they also:
-
learn about themselves, gaining
confidence in their abilities & skills
-
develop a “teamwork” feeling
as they have to listen and play in groups
-
discover the treasures of
cultural diversity in the wider world
-
understand how to respect
positive role models from “other” places.

Noah adapts the sessions in terms of content, length
and activity to the very young learners. There are also special
stories like "The Rainbow" and "The Pigeon's Tale"
which are accompanied by soft African harp music.

Noah has experience with
many different types of child and adult learner. As well as its
energizing properties, African music has a powerful therapeutic
value. People with physical or behaviuoral differences respond
well, participating in workshops at their own pace and at their own
level.
Everyone has rhythm and everyone can enjoy making music, from the most
basic sounds to more challenging ones. Learning to play as members
of a group is fun and satisfying.
Noah works in close collaboration with staff to meet particular
requirements of specific groups.

Some
projects are good for residencies in individual schools, clusters and
pyramids and can be run over several days or involve a longer period.
The end product can be a performance either for the schools or for the
local community. Special themes and projects involving several schools
and arts centres can be commissioned.
The table below outlines some recent large projects
Noah has undertaken. We are happy to provide more information
about these and other themes that can be developed on request.

Synopsis |
Three themes are
developed:
|
A severe drought
affects the whole ecological system. By facing the challenge together,
imploring the heavens under the Sacred Tree, they make the rain fall. |
Story
based on the Pygmy’s “Creation of the World” & an African legend
“the Broken Spoon” set in the African rainforest. |
